This is our demo/AP of Calico Games’ Short Order Heroes, a deck-based role-playing game that can also be used as an NPC generator for other games. We’re releasing it out of order as a bonus episode because we want it to coincide with the game’s pre-order period.
We talk about the challenge of creating lots of compelling NPCs as a GM, and then we play about an hour of the game (to a satisfying story conclusion). Our general consensus was that this is a reasonably fun nano-game attached to an excellent tool for GMs.
